EcoSBR with Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) is a wastewater treatment process that uses Aerobic Granular Sludge (AGS) to simultaneously remove nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater. AGS is a type of activated sludge that is formed by the self-aggregation of microorganisms. AGS granules are small, dense, and have a high concentration of biomass. This makes them more efficient at removing pollutants from wastewater than conventional activated sludge.
The EcoSBR-BNR is an energy-efficient wastewater treatment system with up to 30% electricity cost savings with a smaller footprint which lowers construction costs.
Application
The EcoSBR-BNR suitable for treating a wide range of pollutants as AGS has a high toxicity tolerance.
AGS has several advantages over conventional activated sludge, including:•Excellent settling properties: AGS granules settle rapidly, which simplifies the separation of biomass from treated wastewater.
High biomass retention: AGS granules can retain a high concentration of biomass, which improves the efficiency of wastewater treatment.
Simultaneous nutrient removal: AGS can remove carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus simultaneously.
EcoSBR-BNR wastewater treatment systems are suitable for treating high-strength wastewaters and applications requiring treatment capacities ranging from 200 kL/day to municipal scale plants.
